Mission Statement
The mission of Friends is to assist Parks staff in the management and conservation
of the natural and cultural resources of the Parks, for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The mission
of Friends is to be accomplished by enlisting and coordinating the involvement of citizens and organizations (Volunteers)
wishing to assist the Parks. Friends' support may include providing information about the Parks and their resources to
the public; assisting and educating visitors to the Parks; fund-raising to support special projects or general operations
for the Parks; and, other activities which contribute to the care and conservation of the Parks.
Not affecting the Friends of the Lost Pines Swimming
Program, but an important annoucement from Parks and Wildlife about the Hours the Swimming Pool will be open to the Public
at Bastrop State Park:
June 6th - August 2nd, 2009. Open Noon to 6:45
PM, Wednesday through Monday, closed Tuesdays.
Special Announcement from the Park:
Now that we have completed the month of June (still only a third through the summer), there have been additional
factors that have come into play which were not available earlier this month to extend the days of operations for the first
2 full weeks in August and hopefully the third week as well. We will continue to remain open on weekends through Labor
Day.
