Family Fishing Clinics
With five learning stations, prizes and more you're sure to have fun learning to fish at this clinic. Rods, reels and bait provided. Open to all ages. 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Night Hike
Find out what it is like to be a creature of the night. Join a naturalist to call for owls, watch for bats, listen for toads and experience the park’s trails after dark. Wear walking shoes and bring water, insect repellent and a flashlight. Meet at the kiosk by the playground. 8:30pm.

Evening Excavations
Come join us on an adventure about the different rocks and minerals in Bastrop State Park! Discover what makes the Lost Pines so unique through hands-on identification and experimentation through this talk and short, easy hike. Wear good walking shoes and bring water. We will begin Copperas Creek Picnic Shelter at 7:30pm.

Animal Adventures
Who calls the Bastrop State Park home? Explore the world of mammals, insects, bird, reptiles and amphibians that live around us in this 30- to 45-minute talk. Copperas Creek Campground Picnic Shelter at 8:30pm.

Frog & Toad Watch
Help monitor Bastrop State Park’s amphibians. You will learn how to identify these frogs and toads by sound and sight and then conduct a survey at a nearby pond. No experience required! Bring water and insect repellent. Personal vehicles may be needed to drive to listening site. Inquire at about start location at Park Headquarters. 8:30pm.

Buescher Bugs
Did you know that bugs living in lakes and streams can help us determine water quality? Explore the benefits of these indicator insects on the shores of Buescher State Park Lake. We’ll dip into the lake, pick through aquatic plants and examine the invertebrates we find. No experience necessary! Prepare to get a little muddy. 10am-noon.

Free after park entrance fees, but reservations are required. Call 512-237-2241 by 5pm on the Friday before the program.
